There is mounting pressure on the Federal Opposition to make clear its position on forestry operations and regional forest agreements.

The Australian Greens are urging Federal Labor leader, Kim Beazley, to reveal his party's forest policy.

Yesterday, Greens Senator Bob Brown won the support of the Liberals, the Democrats and One Nation in a motion against logging old growth forests where there is a plantation alternative.

Tasmania's Opposition leader, Sue Napier, has branded Labor criticism of the vote as playing politics.

"They're the ones that have been playing games for about 18 months or two years, so let's call it for what it is.

"This is an attempt by Labor to distract from the real issue. Federal Labor should support the RFA," Mrs Napier said.
