TOOLS FOR PEFC LOGO USERS

This page offers key resources about PEFC and tools that can help PEFC certificate holders and access and use PEFC logos & trademarks.

PEFC CHAIN OF CUSTODY AND TRADEMARK USE

Certified organizations with a valid PEFC trademarks usage licence with SFI Inc. (the PEFC US national governing body) can use the PEFC Label Generator to create the PEFC label. The PEFC Trademark Rules released in 2020 are for use with the PEFC Chain of Custody Standard also released in 2020.  Trademark rules apply to PEFC-certified companies and forest owners, brand owners, NGOs and PEFC members, and other groups whenever using the PEFC trademarks.

PEFC logo users in the US and Canada can use the Online Label Approval Request Platform for trademark approval and record-keeping. Contact SFI for more.

The PEFC Logo Generator for PEFC Trademarks Rules – Requirements (PEFC ST 2001:2020) is pending release. If you want to use the PEFC label but don’t yet have a license code, please contact SFI.

PEFC CHAIN OF CUSTODY AND TRADEMARK USE — PREVIOUS VERSIONS

Use the online PEFC Label Generator if you have a PEFC COC Certificate issued to PEFC ST 2002:2013. If you want to use the PEFC label but don’t yet have a license code, please contact SFI.

The 2020 version of the Chain of Custody, PEFC ST 2002:2013 standard replaced the previous 2013 version on 14 February 2020. The transition date is 14 February 2022. After this, companies still certified against the 2013 version will need to prepare their system according to the 2020 version, in preparation for certification against this version during their next external audit.

The 2020 version of the PEFC Logo Usage Rules – Requirements, PEFC ST 2001:2008 standard replaced the previous 2008 version on 14 February 2020. For organizations with a PEFC logo licence issued before the publication of this latest document, a 24 month transition period applies. The transition date is 14 February 2022.
