SFI-certified forests are sustainably managed to provide habitats for multiple species, including species at risk. SFI standards take a multi-species approach, and SFI-certified companies are held to the highest level of species and habitat conservation.

We partner with multiple conservation leadership organizations and government agencies on species recovery and habitat conservation. SFI also works to conserve species of concern, even if they are not listed as endangered or at risk. Stopping species from becoming endangered in the first place is one of our key priorities.

With more than 375 million acres/150 million hectares of SFI-certified forestland, we have the scale to make a difference. Wide-ranging species, like birds, bears, caribou, and many others benefit from the freedom to fly and roam across the landscape.
